CTVFD was dispatched to a working structure fire in a 3 story
Units from CTVFD, New Haven Hose Company and Bullskin
VFD were activated on the initial dispatch, as well was RIT
from Scottdale VFD.  Heavy fire spread throughout the
structure from the basement through the 2nd division.  
Additional manpower was requested from Hopwood VFD and
South Connellsville remained on standby in their station.  The
home received extensive damage throughout.  There were no
injuries reported.

CTVFD was dispatched to reported structure fire with
possible entrapment.  Upon arrival 7 Chief reported negative
entrapment and heavy fire on the C side of the structure.  
quickly knocked down the fire.  CTVFD was assisted by New
Haven Hose, Bullskin, South Connellsville, Scottdale RIT, and
Everson was on standby in station 7.  A passing trucker
reported the fire and forced the home's door tothenssisted
the resident outside

Vehicle Accident
with Entrapment
Paramedics with Fayette EMS, work alongside volunteer
firefighters while treating an unidentified man who was
involved in a single-vehicle accident along Route 201 North
in Dunbar Township, shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday,
December 26, 2012. Volunteer firefighters from DL&V,, New
Haven Hose Company, Dawson, and Connellsville Township
worked the scene along with Fayette EMS. Route 201 was
shut down for over an hour while crews worked to free the
patient. The unidentified man was transported to Highlands

Vehicle Accident
on Pleasant Valley Road in the area of Breakneck Road.  
Reports initially indicated that at the excavating equipment
and the tri-axle had collided.  After investigation it was
discovered that the excavator came off the tri-axle's trailer
during transport.  There were no reported injuries,  CTVFD
asssisted Station 45 with traffic control.

Possible Entrapment
CTVFD was dispatched to a reported vehicle accident,
vehicle over the hillside with possible entrapment.  Additional
information reported negative entrapment and that the
vehicle was on fire.  Fayette County 911 dispatched CTVFD
and Station 8.  After the fire was extinguished CTVFD
remained on  scene for several hours while the vehicle was

Structure Fire
CTVFD was dispatched to assist Station 41 with a working
structure fire.  Arriving units found extremely heavy smoke
conditions.  Truck 4 responded on the initial alarm.  Tanker 1
was requested by 7 A/C to assist in establishing a water
supply.  Fire crews remained on the scene for several hours
overhauling the structure and extinguishing hot spots.

Vehicle Accident
Vehicle Over the
Hillside
CTVFD was dispatched to a  reported vehicle accident on
Route 119 South in the area of Kentucky Fried Chicken.  The
vehicle was to be over the hillside.  Arriving units found a
pick up truck over the hillside and a second vehicle involved
parked along the roadside.  There were negative injuries.  
Crews were on scene to direct traffic and to assist with
removal of the vehicle from over the hillside. This is the
second accident over the same hillside in less then a week.

Structure Fire
reported structure fire on E. Cedar Avenue.  CTVFD was
Station 8 New Haven Hose Company was dispatched for a
activated for standby in station at that time.   Assistant 8
arrived on scene and reported a working structure fire with
exposure problems.  8 Assistant requested a second alarm
be activated.  CTVFD responded with Engine 2 and Squad
with manpower.  CTVFD along with the 2nd Alarm companies
assisted Station 8 with fire suppression and overhaul.

CTVFD was dispatched to assist Station 14 Everson with a
working structure fire in Upper Tyrone.  First arriving units
reported heavy smoke and fire conditions.  Command
reported that heavy winds and weather conditions were
hindering fire supression.  A tanker alarm was dispatched in
order to establish a water supply.  Additional companies were
activated to assist at the scene with manpower and as
standby units.  Firefighters remained on scene for several
hours extinguishing the fire and performing overhaul.

Vehicle Accident   
with Injuries
Route 119 North
CTVFD was dispatched for a single vehicle motor vehicle
accident on Route 119 North in the area of Brooks Camper
Sales.  Arriving units reported negative entrapment but for
patient extrication the rear passenger door and the B post
would need to be removed.  Crews from 7 Engine 3 and 7
Rescue worked with Fayette EMS to stabilize the patient and
extricate them from the vehicle.  7 Squad shut down traffic on
Route 119 North during the extrication process.

Route 711
CTVFD was dispatched for a single vehicle accident on
Route 711.  Dispatch reported the vehicle into a ditch.  7 Chief
negative injuries.  7 Chief also reported hazardous road
conditions.  State Police requested that the fire department
shut Route 711 to traffic until PennDot arrived to clear the
road surface.

2741 Moyer Road
Structure Fire
CTVFD was dispatched to assist Bullskin Station 45 with a
structure fire in a single family dwelling on Moyer Road.  Jeff
Kelley, Bullskin fire department first assistant chief, said it
appeared that a malfunctioning heater ignited the blaze.
No one was home at the time.  The single-story home
sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

Related Incidents
CTVFD was dispatched throughout the morning to several
which passed through the area.  On Springfield Pike, several
utility poles came down.  Safety Officer Dwayne Krumanacker
reported in the area of the runaway truck ramp that poles
were down and high tension wires were across Springfield
Pike.  Arriving units closed Springfield Pike to all traffic until
Station 51 Normalville assisted with traffic control on the
upper side of Springfiled Pike.

Quad Accident
with Injuries
CTVFD was dispatched on a boundary call with New Haven Hose for a quad accident in
the area of North Manor and the Sewage Plant.  & Truck 4, 7 Squad and 7 Polaris
responded.  Personnel on scene reported the accident to be in Connellsville Township
and the patient to be suffering from severe injuries and would need extricated from the
remote area on 7 Polaris.  Station 8 responded their Engine to the North Manor ball field
to set up a landing zone.  The patient was transported to the landing zone and turned
over to awaiting medical personnel.

reported structure fire.  First arriving units reported a working

Springfield Pike
CTVFD was dispatched in the area of 2415 Springfield Pike
overturned and blocking one lane of traffic.  7 Engine 3 and 7
Squad responded along with Station 51 Normalville.  & Chief
arrived on scene and reported negative entrapment, vehicle
overturned and a pole sheared.  Arriving personnel direct
traffic in a single lane operation until the vehicle could be
removed.  Units remained on scene until Allegheny Power
arrived with crews to replace the damaged pole.

Route 119
CTVFD was dispatched to the intersection of Route 119 and
Blake Avenue for a motor vehicle accident involving a pickup
truck.  Minor entrapment was reported by first arriving units.  
7 Engine 3,  7 Truck 4 and 7 Squad responded.  The crew off
Engine 3 popped the drivers side door to extricate the
patient.

CTVFD was initially dispatched to assist Station 10 with a
reported structure fire.  As Truck 4 was leaving the station
911 Dispatched reported a working structure fire at 215
DeMuth Road in Connellsville Township.  7 Chief arrived on
scene, reported a working fire requested his first due alarm
respond to the scene.  Station 8, 37, 45 and Westmoreland 58
responded.  The "C" side of the structure was heavily
involved upon arrival and the wind forced the fire through the
structure.  Units remained on scene several hours performing
overhaul and ensuring there were not hot spots remaining.

Breakneck Road
CTVFD was dispatched to a two vehicle accident along
Breakneck Road.  7 Captain was the first arriving unit and
reported negative entrapment. 7 Chief and Engine 3 arrived
on scene to assist with traffic control and patient extrication.  
7 Assistant Chief requested Station 8 New Haven Hose to
shut down Breakneck Road at the intersection of Falcon
Drive.  Due to the nature of the patients injuries, rescue
personnel removed the "B" post and the rear drivers side
door as well as the back of the seat to facilitate ease of
extrication and patient care.  Personnel assisted EMS with
patient extrication.  Patient extrication took approximately 20

with a vehicle fire next to a structure.  11 Assistant arrived on
scene and reported that the structure was also on fire.

running the roof line.  7 RIT was given orders to become a fire
attack unit to assist with fire suppression.  The structure
sustained extensive damage.  Stations 10, 14, 32, 45 assited
on scene with others on standby.

CTVFD was dispatched to establish a Landing Zone  for
Station 45 .  Station 45 was working an ATV accident with
multiple injuries.  7 Engine 3 secured the Landing Zone at the
Bullskin Elementary School, landed 3 helicopters and
assisted with loading the patients.

CTVFD was dispatched to be on standby in station for
Station 8 who was responding to a reported structure fire.  
Police reported heavy fire with exposure problems and three
injured victims.  Chief  8 requested that his 2nd Alarm be
activated bringing 7 Engine 2 and 7 Truck 4 to the scene.  A
2nd structure became involved and crews were divided
between the two structures.  Chief 8 assumed command of
the primary structure and 7 Chief assumed command of the
secondary structure.  Several additional companies
responded to assist with fire suppression and extensive
overhaul.

Smoke in a Structure

1407 Buttermore Blvd
CTVFD was dispatched to a report of smoke in the structure
at 1407 Buttermore Blvd.  7 Captain arrived on scene and
reported he had a  two story, single family dwelling filled with
smoke.  Upon further investigation 7 Captain reported that
the fire was out and smoke ejection was required.  7 Engine 2
and 7 Engine 3 responded to the scene.  Stations 8, 37, and
45 were initially placed on standby but released after report of
the fire being out.  There were no reported injuries.  The
family cat suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the
scene with oxygen using CTVFD's newly acquired pet
oxygen recovery unit.

disabled truck on Springfield Pike.  One lane of traffic was

CTVFD was dispatched to assist Station 45 Bullskin on
scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route
119 North and Buttermore Blvd.  Arriving unites reported a 2
vehicle accident with the female patient of one vehicle
needed extricated from the vehicle.  Firefighters removed
both passenger side doors and the "B" post for patient
extrication.  Patient was transported.  Crews remained on
scene to assist in traffic control and clearing road debris.

reported vehicle fire.  Arriving units reported a large camper
fully involved with exposures threatened.  A large storage
shed adjacent to the camper quickly became involved.  
Additional units from Station 14 Everson and surrounding
hydrants in the area, a tanker shuttle was established for the
water supply.

CTVFD was dispatched to a vehicle/pedestrian accident in
units reported one victim still lying in the roadway.  The
victim  had been riding a bicycle heading northbound prior to
the accident.  The victim died at the scene.  Firefighters shut
down Route 119 and rerouted traffic while Pennsylvania
State Police investigated the accident scene.

CTVFD was dispatched to assist Station 24 Morrell with a
reported structure fire.  Initial reports stated smoke detectors
had activated and that large amounts of smoke were coming
from the structure.  First arriving units reported a working fire
in the laundry room.  7 Tanker responded and was the initial
attack apparatus.  The fire was contained to the laundry room
and sustained heavy damage.

units found heavy fire spreading throughout the structure.

permanent water supply was established.  45 Chief requested
7 Air to the scene.  Firefighters from several companies
remained on scene for several hours performing overhaul
operations.

CTVFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the
area of 12009 Springfield Pike.  Initial reports from Fayette 911
reported the vehicle had hit some guard rail and was off the
side of the road. Arriving units found the vehicle had hit some
concrete barriers and traveled off the road.  Engine 3
reported negative entrapment or injuries.  7 Squad
responded to assist in traffic control while the vehicle was
removed.

after 1600 hours.  7 Chief arrived on scene and reported a
working fire on the second division of the structure and
threatening the roof structure.  7 Engine 2 arrived first on
scene and began fire suppression.  7 Engine 3, 7 Air, 7
Tanker and 7 Squad also responded.  CTVFD was assisted at
the scene by New Haven Hose, South Connellsville and
Scottdale Fire Departments.  Bullskin was on stand-by in
station 7.

with an electrical fire at 240 Hustosky Road.  First arriving
officer reported the fire to be out and cancelled all incoming
units.

Station 7 was dispatched at 2140 hours to a reported
structure fire at 495 Dunbar Ohiopyle Road.  Upon arrival 12
Chief reported the fire out and requested all incoming units to
cancel.

working structure fire.  7 Tanker responded to assist.  First
arriving units reported a working structure fire and that road
conditions were extremely dangerous snow and icy roads.  
45 Chief had Fayette 911 activate his tanker alarm.  Numerous
companies assisted Bullskin, there were no reported injuries.

extinguished the fire and performed overhual.  Bullskin,
South Connellsville, New Haven Hose and Scottdale were on

fire.  7 Truck 4 responded and was initially assigned truck
work while enroute.  Upon arrival Truck 4's crew was
assigned fire suppression.   Fire conditions quickly changed
due to difficulty establishing a water supply, and the fire
began venting through the roof.  10 Chief requested a tanker
alarm which brought 7 Tanker to the scene.

Numerous companies assisted DL&V including Dawson,
Everson, South Connellsville,  Morrell, Westmoreland 58 and
Fayette EMS.  Crews remained on scene for several hours
performing overhaul.

Reported Vehicle
Accident
2200 Springfield Pike
CTVFD was dispatched for a reported vehicle accident on
Route 711 Springfield Pike.  7 Truck 4 responded.  Upon
arrival 7 Assistant reported a jackknifed tractor trailer was
blocking the entire roadway, and that road conditions were
extremely hazardous.  Traffic control was established and
PennDOT was called for to clear the roadway.  After clearing
the roadway, the tractor trailer was removed from the
roadway.

Assist Station 12
Structure Fire
823 Furnace Road
CTVFD was dispatched to assist Station 12 Dunbar with a
structure fire.  Initial alarm called for 7 Tanker to respond.  
First arriving units reported a working fire.  12 Command
requested 7 Air respond to the scene.  The fire was quickly
contained and units remained on scene performing
overhaul.  Morrell, Monarch, North Union Township and West
Leisenring VFDs also assisted.

Vehicle Accident
with Entrapment
Breakneck Road
Station 7 was dispatched for a vehicle accident on Breakneck
Road at the "S" curve with entrapment.  7 Enigne 3
responded for extrication, 7 Squad with manpower and 7
Brush for traffic control.  Station 8 New Haven Hose was
activated to assist with lighting at the scene and traffic
control.

Assist Station 45
Structure Fire
14 Sunrise Circle
Station 7 was dispatched to assist Station 45 Bullskin with a
reported structure fire. 45 Assistant was on scene and
reported a fire in the attic and roof area.  7 Engine 2 arrived on
scene and stretched 2 lines, 1 to the attic and 1 to the roof.  
Arriving Station 45 firefighters assisted with extinguishment
and overhaul.  Station 8 New Haven Hose was called to assist
at the scene with their Air Truck.  The fire was quickly
extinguished however, crews remained on scene to ensure
their was no extension of fire into other areas of the structure.

Vehicle Accident
Route 119 and Blake
CTVFD was dispatched for a vehicle accident at the
intersection of Route 119 and Blake Avenue.  7 Captain
reported both vehicles were in the roadway in the
intersection.  7 Engine 3 and 7 Squad responded and
established traffic control.  Fayette EMS also responded.
