Membership in Connellsville Township Volunteer Fire Department is open to anyone age
16 and older. Membership is broken into six (6) categories: Junior Member, Probationary
Member, Regular Member. Patron Member, Associate Member and Life Member. All
members serve a minimum of one (1) year as a Probationary Member. Members must
complete training at the Fayette County Fire School during their first year of membership.

Junior Members are those members who have not reached their eighteenth (18)
birthday. Junior Members are not allowed to fight fire and have certain restrictions placed
upon them. Upon reaching the age of eighteen (18) Junior Members are placed on the
Probationary membership roster.

Probationary Members are those members serving one (1) year of membership prior to
becoming a voting member of the department. Probationary Members are expected to train
and learn the ways of the fire department, are to participate in all fund raising aspects of
the department, are expected to attend company functions and meetings. Probationary
Members must successfully complete their year with a minimum of 40% participation.
Probationary Members have NO voting privileges.

Regular Members are those members who have successfully completed their year of
probation and are being accepted into the department. Regular Members must live within
Connellsville Township. Regular Members are given all the privileges of the department
and are voting members.

Patron Members are those members who have successfully completed their year of
probation and are being accepted into the department. Patron Members live outside
Connellsville Township. Patron Members are given all the privileges of the department and
are voting members.

Associate Members are those members who have served within the department but did
not reach their activity percentage. Associate Members have no voting privileges. Years
served as Associate Members do not count towards Life Membership.

Life Members are those members who have successfully completed twenty (20) years of
active service to the department.
