William F. Ramsey
William F. Ramsey, 42, firefighter, Connellsville Township Volunteer
Fire Department, died September 9, 2003, when he suffered a heart
attack at the station after returning from a fire call.  He served with the
department for four years and was its Financial Secretary.  He also
acted as a liaison between the department, local businesses and the
community, and was a member of the Fayette County Hazmat Team.  
Ramsey owned the local Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and was
an active member of numerous fraternal organizations.  A scholarship
has been established in his name to help graduating high school
seniors who plan a career in emergency services or nursing.
Jarrod R. Lohr, age 3, an Honorary Member of the Connellsville
Township Volunteer Fire Department, passed away following a battle
with childhood leukemia.  After learning of Jarrod's love of fire trucks
and his great pleased to accept Jarrod as an Honorary Member.  One
of the most memorable experiences with Jarrod occurred when the fire
department was able to arrange a special private visit from Santa
Claus to grant Jarrod his wish of receiving a drum set for Christmas.  
Jarrod was always full of excitement and enthusiasm, and could
always bring a smile to every firefighter's face.  A scholarship has
been established in his name to help graduating high school seniors
who plan a career in emergency services or nursing.

Although Bill is no longer with us, his memory and the
lessons he taught us will remain with us forever.
